Proposal Preparation

Getting Started

The IATH Development Officer, Regina Carlson, can assist you with preparing forms and budgets, editing narratives, gaining institutional approvals, copying and mailing proposals. Our goal is to enhance the chances of getting your grant applications funded. However, you must adhere to IATH's Guidelines for Proposal Submission if we are to assist and support your application. Proposals should be discussed with Regina at least six months in advance of the submissions deadline (no, we're not kidding). Final text and budget for a proposal must be submitted to the IATH Development Officer at least 10 business days before the submission deadline, and you should allow more time if your proposal involves cost-sharing, or collaborations with faculty in other schools or institutions.

When you have decided to submit a proposal, please contact Regina Carlson or (434) 982-4570 so we can prepare to meet your deadline. You should also contact your School's Research Administrators at the Office of Sponsored Programs to coordinate your submission and review their policies. General policies for the University can be found at here.
