Small World, Wide Web: Research and Digital Media

Rather than trying to offer an authoritative statement on research and digital media, I'll sketch some of my own experiences in six years of working online, first as a graduate student and now as a junior faculty member -- a period that coincided with the first great proliferation of information technology in the academic humanities. In particular, I'll try to extract what is relevant and repeatable from my own individual experiences, and suggest ways in which graduate students (and faculty) can use digital media to take control of their research agendas and professional identities.
