2011-2012 Digital Humanities Speaker Series: Request for Suggestions

IATH, the Scholars' Lab, and SHANTI are planning the 2011-12 Digital Humanities Speaker series, and the series organizers are soliciting suggestions. As a starting point, the ideal speaker would:
- A recognized scholar who is
- Compelling within his/her own discipline and
- Attractive to other disciplines as well
- Someone who integrate or explore digital technologies in his/her work in compelling ways; and
- Most importantly, be a dynamic and charismatic speaker and presenter
The organizers are also seeking suggestions for topics, panels, debates, etc. The hope is to create an exciting series that will attract a wide-ranging audience, so ideas for new scholarly approaches are most welcome.
The series will invite four speakers, two in the fall semester and two in the spring. Suggestions should be sent by e-mail to Sarah Wells (spw4s_at_virginia.edu) by June 6. Please provide both a name and affiliation as well as any other relevant descriptive information or support. Nominations are being posted here.
