Roster Search

Some of the most detailed sources of information on the men
of the nineteenth-century United States were the rosters of their
military
service. Historians Robert Driver and Lee Wallace have compiled
detailed
rosters of the Staunton Artillery and the Fifth Virginia Infantry for
their
books in the Virginia Regimental Series, published by H. E. Howard.
The
authors and publisher have graciously given us their permission to scan
these rosters and make them available in the Augusta Archive. If you
would like to explore the rosters, please click here.
If you would like to hear music played at the time of the Civil War,
performed by the Shenandoah Band of Winchester, please click on The
Bonnie
Blue Flag (for Southern partisans) or The Battle Flag of the Republic
(for
Union partisans).
