blogsnew, 6-10-7I've added a lot of new material, but neglected to note it. The French version of the 1993 trailer is HERE. The Japanese version of the 1993 trailer is HERE. In 1997, I had a commission to contribute a section to a compilation feature film called "Danish Girls Show Everything", organized by Holland House in Copenhagen. Directors included Mika Kaurismäki, Dusan Makavejev, Zhang Yuan, Krzysytof Zanussi, Gustav Hamos, and Monika Treut. The section I did is HERE. In 2003, I did a test segment of the movie, to see what it would look like in 720p, a hi-def format. I didn't have a budget, so did the music edit myself, and used rather rough voice-overs. I apologize if the voices are difficult to understand, this was of course just a test segment. You can see it in French here [better mix] HERE, or English HERE . new, 2 -25-07Research into reconstruction and of course all technical methods for reconstruction of the previously lost feature "The Telepathic Motion Picture..." have been in progress for some years, and other years. I have decided to finish this project over the course of the coming Months. I will now start to publish some of research, results, and imaginations here. This is a SKETCHBOOK, if you will please pardon the analogy since I have no drawing skills but I think you understand what I mean. I will ERASE and ADD at times things that you see. I've put up a short film which is a description of coming attractions, similar to what you might have seen if you had seen the trailer for "The Telepathic Motion Picture...". This short I used to raise money over 13 years ago. See it here: HERE You can see two posters I have reconstructed during various reveries into that movie. They are not accurate, but I never saw the originals . These were made by myself and Florence Ormezzano in 1997: HERE. A start, and description of the movieWhat kind of movie? The story is set in Manchukuo [Northeastern China, under the Japanese] in a year on a fictional calendar that roughly corresponds to sometime in the late 1930's. The movie is, or is about, a film in production at the Manchu-Edison film studios in the capital city, Shinkyo, center of the country. The name of the film is "THE LOST TRIBES". Yes, it is a telepathic movie... the then-current speciality of the Manchu-Edison studios. How am I doing it? I'm making the movie in the mid-range hi-def format, 720p. Style-wise, you might call it semi-animated. It is a composite of images, start to finish, combining everything from stock footage to live actors to motion-capture driven 3d characters. [more...] When have I been doing it? I've been working on "The Telepathic Motion Picture of THE LOST TRIBES" since I finished the main part of "Wax"'s distribution, around 1993. The first trailer was done late that year. After getting some sponsorship, my wife and I spent 1995-1997 in Japan working on the project, and since that time I've been, well, working on it. Though a fair amount of time was siphoned off to "Waxweb" [the hypermedia version of Wax], "The Telepathic Motion Picture..." has been my main work in this period. It is a fairly large project, and since Japan I've been working at it on my own, so what with this part and that part and the other part and the other part on top of this or that, etc., well, I'm still at it. But I expect to finish for distribution in 2007. |
