Line variant. It designates a line or part of a line that appears in the document as an alternative to the line taken as normative for the document. It follows the logical structure of the normative line. The <lv> elemetn is not used for lines or parts of lines that have been altered by addition or cancellation (these are indicated by the <add> and <del> tags.
