Proposal Preparation

Getting Started

The IATH Development Officer, Regina Carlson, assists Fellows with preparing forms and budgets, editing narratives, gaining institutional approvals, copying and mailing proposals. Our goal is to enhance the chances of getting our Fellows’ grant applications funded. However, Fellows must adhere to IATH's Proposal Guidelines if we are to assist and support their application. Proposals should be discussed with Regina at least six months in advance of the submissions deadline. Final text and budget for a proposal must be submitted to the IATH Development Officer at least 10 business days before the submission deadline. If a proposal involves cost-sharing, or collaborations with faculty in other schools or institutions, it will require extra time and should be submitted earlier.

Fellows who want to submit a proposal should contact Regina Carlson via e-mail or call (434) 982-4570. They should also contact their School's Research Administrators at the Office of Sponsored Programs to coordinate submission and review their policies. General policies for the University can be found here.
